jazz music nights at the lacma is one of my most favorite parts of summer. there is no other place that I so deeply am made aware of the fact that we all live such individual lives. I’ve heard the word before, sonder. “the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivd and complex as your own.” it’s something I think about a lot, but never as much as I do when I’m there. the groups of people drinking, talking, laughing, dancing. the people on stage that are so enthralled by the music they’re playing that it no longer even seems like they’re the ones playing it but rather are merely vessels for it. the fact that they all came from something so different, and are leaving to something that is entirely it’s own. no one will ever live the exact life that they do. that I do. I think the human experience is so beautiful, what a privilege it is to be apart of it.
what a privilege it is to be human.
